The ResponsibleGlass Standard: Preliminary Proposals Are Out
We have now published the preliminary proposals for the ResponsibleGlass Standard. This is a significant step forward. Moving from vision and governance to a practical framework for responsible glass across the value chain.
These preliminary proposals reflect months of collaboration and technical work.
The next phase is consultation – inviting feedback to ensure the standard is rigorous, credible and workable in practice.
ResponsibleGlass Members and Supporters will be working to help shape the standard – if you would like to participate and join us, we would love to hear from you. Now is the moment to get involved.

Stakeholder Council: Building Momentum Together
Thank you to everyone who joined our recent Stakeholder Council. There was a real sense of energy in the discussion and momentum behind what we’re building together.
Since launching in December, ResponsibleGlass has grown from 13 to 23 Members and Supporters – a huge 77% increase! We’re proud to already be bringing together organisations from across the glass value chain. That diversity is already strengthening the process of developing the standard.
The Stakeholder Council brought together organisations from across the value chain to sense-check the direction of the preliminary proposals for the ResponsibleGlass Standard and identify priorities for the next phase.
The next Stakeholder Council will be on Wednesday 15 July.
We’ll be sharing more opportunities to engage over the coming months – as we plan to get out and about meeting more of you at events and site visits.
Working Groups Now Underway
Working Groups are now active and meeting regularly, focusing on:
- Responsible Sourcing of Input Materials
- GHG Emissions
- Circularity
- Downstream Chain of Custody & Claims
If you are part of an organisation at any point along the glass value chain and these topics matter to you – now is the time to get in touch about joining ResponsibleGlass….while the standard is still being shaped.

Welcoming New Supporters
We are pleased to welcome new organisations joining ResponsibleGlass, continuing to strengthen representation across the value chain.
